The revolution may not be televised...

Firstly, let me say rest in peace to the late great Gil Scott-Heron (1 April 1949 - 27 May 2011) who coined the popular phrase "the revolution will not be televised" as it was the title of one of Gil's many poems written as a cry for social justice and revolution.
In simple terms, the poem tells the listener not to look to mainstream sources for the truth, change or social revolution and that it will not be found in the slogans and routines of the existing media structures.

Listen to the poem here

Some might say the phrase has taken on new meaning when  for example the Arab uprising that erupted in Egypt and Tunisia, and the 'revolution' really was on television...but was that true revolution or was it orchestrated by "the man" (lol) All seemed a bit staged to me all these countries suddenly rioting and "dictators" shooting people...stinks of CIA operation summet or other .....That's another blog anyway, i digress...

My point is...the revolution may not be televised but it sure does reach You-Tube, Facebook and Twitter, as well as various other places on the net.

It is said that in the Age of Aquarius the revelation of truth and the expansion of conciousness will arise and we are said to be shifting into that age...In the not so many years i have been living in my current form, i have seen so many things to the contrary i.e music on the TV about nothing other than variations of materialism and greed, a generation of people that heave at the thought of reading a book or a discussion about anything that is not superficial doo doo, 'News' that reports to sway public opinion, misinform, distract or to tell us about a cat stuck up a tree...need i go on?

That said, i have found it very encouraging that there seems to be much more awareness about the things that have been put in place to zombify, desensitize and enslave us, not only on the internet but the love of my life....music...there is a surge of relatively mainstream artists making really dead prez in your face songs, with real lyrics and great videos, that might provoke questions and thought in the listener and when i hear them i feel like i have found drum beat in a sea of white noise.

Enough rambling...below a few of the many songs that have made my heart warm the last few months. I may upload more as and when i come across them.
Hear and listen...Feel free to nod your head...
"Song is the invitation from the primordial unseen to become one with that which is seen. To nod your head is to agree that the moment is godly: communion.
To dance is to become God. There are many ways of dancing. Follow your heart."
