Rooftop Strangers

She went to find a place where she could watch the world go by, yet be in her own thoughts and make the world stop.
He went to find somewhere he could make the world stop whilst listening to rap on a roof top.

She smiled as their eyes locked.
When their eyes locked he thought his heart might stop
He walked towards her with a grin and took his headphones off.
She looked towards the setting sun and asked what brought him there
He said "peace, hip hop and fresh air. In a crowded city but there is a peaceful beauty up here".
She asked what he was listening to
He said "Rakim and Eric B. Real hip hop B"
She nodded and recited the first verse of 'Check out my melody'
He watched the silhouette of her lips as she rapped sweetly
He smiled, slapped his knee and said "ah you agree"
They spoke for an hour or three
She studied his expressions as he spoke so passionately
He thought he might have met the woman he'll marry
Just by the look in her eyes and the way she tilted her head as she listened intently
They spoke openly
They spoke comfortably
Then they sat silently
Two strangers found familiarity and stopped the world for an evening in each other's company.
